GUIDE was part-funded by the European Commission's e-Content Programme and launched as a pilot 2004. The pan-European funding portal provided access to information about approximately 13,000 public funding opportunities for Businesses and the Public Sector across 11 partner countries. The overall management of the site, along with the delivery of the UK and Ireland funding information, came from Idox Information Solutions (formerly j4b) - Europe's leading grants and policy information providers.
